Stanton Lakes to Upton Festival

Hi everyone.

What an awesome event Stanton Lakes turned out to be! The weather wasn’t what we would have liked (and particularly frustrating given the nice days we had either side of Saturday’s show) but hey, did it matter? Not one bit! People turned out in force to support the bands and the event as a whole, and not least the very special reason behind it, collecting money for the late Jane Smith’s favourite charity, the Air Ambulance.

A MASSIVE thank you to all the performers who appeared with us, namely, Jinx, Benji Williams, Richie Phillips, Molly C Trio, Johnson Brothers, Big Wednesday and the Stray Bullets. Each and every one of them put on a brilliant set and it was our privilege to have them with us at the Great Gig on The Lake.

Most of all though, thanks to everyone who showed up, buying tickets, camping pitches, food and drink, merchandise and generally supporting all the music with such amazing dedication on a wet and windy day! You’re the true stars if the event and it wouldn’t take place if you didn’t show up every year. It’s quite humbling for us to look out from the stage and see so many people having made the effort to come along. Thank you.

From south Leicestershire the DSOTW road show moves onto deepest Worcestershire this Friday night when we make our first ever appearance at a major festival at Upton-on-Severn. Over 1,700 bands applied to be on the Upton Festival so we’re very proud to have been invited to perform a set on stage two on the opening night, this Friday, at 9.30pm. We’ll be playing an hour’s worth of classic Floyd music to what is a brand new audience for us and we can’t wait. The whole band are camping over so we’re also looking forward to getting in the “festival spirit” after the show too! There are some amazing acts on across the three days and you can find more info about Upton Festival at their website:

After what has been a quiet start to the year things are now hotting up a bit and following these two rather different types of show in August we then have two fantastic gigs to look forward to in September when we make our debut appearance at The Box in Crewe on the 14th and then two weeks later (the 28th) sees us back at one of our most long standing and very favourite venues, the Swan Theatre in Worcester.

See you at the shows!
